Santa letters

Alicia has written about 5 letters to Santa this year and they all start with an apology that concerns Ian.  Could it be guilt?  Obviously not close to true repentance yet since nothing has changed whenever the 2 of them are in the same room together.  Someday they will be the best of friends! (I tell myself)
