Tahiti stole my heart

When people ask us how our trip to Tahiti was I say, "It was so so great!"  Then if they really want to know details, I have a hard time knowing where to start and how to possibly describe Tahiti to someone who's never been there.  It was such an adventure for all of us.  It was the most gorgeous, humid, colorful, exotic, simple, complicated, uncivilized, friendly, frustrating, laid back, sweaty, beautiful, hard and fun place ever!  It was so much fun to have us all together for that long and experience something like that.  Audrey and Ryan were the best at getting us around and communicating with everyone that we couldn't.  And it was so awesome to see Audrey interact with the people.  It was not hard to imagine what she was like as a missionary there.
the first house we stayed in, right on the beach

ya just tell me who brings a humongous carrot in their suitcase for a snack?--Mario Durrant does!
the beautiful Tahiti temple

AJ when he realized Dad was going back in

We had a lot of good laughs together but the best came from Mario trying to do a rope swing and getting a little hung up on the finer techniques of it.
the faces definitely say it all

Audrey's wonderful friends made us a beautiful Tahitian Sunday dinner

Nicole and Teesh looking perfect in their flowers
raw fish--we all did it and it was good!

I think most of us agreed that coconut milk is over-rated

Tahitian sunsets were awesome

over the water bungalows were SO much fun!  It was like swimming inside the most beautiful salt water fish tank!

We also got to go out to a motu and swim with sharks and stingrays

Audrey was a celebrity and church and since we are related, we were too

AJ was enjoying sneaking up on everyone and grabbing our legs to freak us out.  It worked on me
ok--passion fruit looks disgusting but I could not get enough of it!

we had to take a lot of family pics!

The black sand beach was amazing!

steak frit!!  They eat a lot of this!

I've never been so hot but also never done a hike with more beautiful views.  So worth it!

The Rock (Roland) was a wonderful hiking guide

World's most rare flower.  It only grows on this mountain on this island

Audrey and her tribe

ok--we were all tired.  Especially Isaac

Like'n my skirt--although it almost fell off
We had some stench issues with our moldy clothes that we could never dry out--but when this (garlic salt) was discovered in our suitcase along with them, then it made so much more sense why we truly smelled so so bad!
