A Jan. Christmas Party

The younger kids enjoying the hot tub.  (Although they all had a rash later-a little too much chlorine)
Since Dec. is chaotic, the Durrant family has started doing a 2 night Christmas party in Jan.  This has been SO much fun for all of us.  This year, we stayed in a big 100 year old house down in Ogden.  AJ and Audrey were scarred of the closet in their room.  The house did have a bit of a haunted feel to it and also had a lot of personality.  Our bathroom was fuchsia purple- really hideous actually.

Watching 'Toy Story' after the hot tub
A big highlight was the DVD that Mario made for his mom.  He has been working on it for the whole month of January.  It was a compilation of all of the Halloween parties that she has put on since 2003. (Or maybe 2002).  There were songs to go along with each years theme and so many great memories!  I loved seeing her reaction to that gift and knowing the time that he put into that gift was really worth it.
Of course there were plenty of games going on the entire 48 hours.

Mario trying out my headscratcher-without red-eye reduction. (It was wigging everyone out but I actually love how it feels)

The part we all look forward to the most is the white elephant gift exchange.  We start this at about midnight so we're all in the proper giddy mood.  There were some great ones this year.

We are all such Twilight fans-NOT.  I would think that anyone who was, is probably not admitting to it anymore.

This was my personal favorite of the night.  Mario secured them and is planning on wearing them the next time he has the urge to be Elvis, John Travolta or Donny Osmond back in the day.

There was a huge lack of sleep among all of us and there has been some grouchy moments among the family since our return.  We did come back for our own church since it was ward conf. and Mario was the main speaker.  He gave a masterpiece on letting go of the grudges in our lives and loving others with a Christlike love.  Pretty sure he was speaking to me but then I had a few people come up to me after and say "I'm pretty sure he was speaking just to me."
